Privacy notice
Effective October 29, 2026. Chair Club is run by New Wave Management Group, LLC, a New Jersey business. This notice follows the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
The short version
- We never sell your personal data, and we don't use it for targeted ads or profiling.
- We collect only what a barbershop needs to book you, reward you and get paid.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time from Rewards in the app.
What we collect and why
- Account: your name, email and a scrambled (hashed) password, so you can sign in.
- Bookings and walk-ins: name, phone, service and time, so the shop can serve you and text you reminders.
- Rewards: your visits, Karma Points, referrals, birthday month and perks, so you earn free cuts.
- Photos: before/after photos only when you agree, and a profile photo only when you add one.
- Verification for plans: ID type and the last 4 digits of a payment method. Full card numbers go only to the payment company. A guardian's details are kept for clients under 18.
- Reviews: what you write, shown publicly with your first name and last initial.
- Location: only when you tap "Near me" and agree. It is rounded to about half a mile, used for that one search, and never saved.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that run parts of Chair Club for us, under contract: your barbershop; payment companies (Square or Stripe); Twilio for text reminders; Stripe Identity for ID checks; and our map and font providers, which see your device's internet address when they load. We may share data if the law requires it. We don't sell or rent data to anyone.
How we protect it
Records and photos are encrypted at rest, sign-ins for staff use strong passwords and two-step checks, and every change is logged in a tamper-evident record. If a breach ever affects you, we will tell you as New Jersey law requires.
How long we keep it
Points expire after 12 months. Your account and reviews stay until you delete them. Shops keep visit and payment records as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, and to opt out of targeted ads, sales and profiling (we do none of these, and we honor browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control). Use Rewards → Your data or Delete my account in the app, or email newwavemanagementgroup@gmail.com. We answer within 45 days. If we say no, you can appeal by replying to that email, and then contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
Children
Chair Club is not for children under 13 to use on their own. Clients under 18 are registered by the shop with a parent or guardian's consent.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will show it in the app before it takes effect.
